It’s That Time Again
Loscon is seven months away, but the committee is actively working on programming. I was asked to do a write up for the Blood Drive. Here it is…
It’s Loscon’s 50th anniversary – which is the golden anniversary, hence the theme of a gold rush. Later on, I’ll have to find someone to do some artwork to go with this. The “49ers” is not only a historical reference, but also a reference that last year’s blood drive was cancelled due to a lack of a supervising nurse.
In other news…
We went to see, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”. I won’t spoil it for anyone, but it’s a great addition to the Ghostbusters franchise. The last one was an homage to Harold Ramos and his character, Egon Spengler. In this this one, Egon is mentioned several times as the inventor of most of the Ghostbuster’s equipment and technology.
What I did find interesting was how they themed the Icee machine…
And, as a writer, this sign for their bar…
We saw it at the AMC Theater in Porter Ranch, California. Kris scored a $5.00 ticket on her AMC app, SWEET! Notice the name of the bar.
