That Which Holds the Image of a Caretaker Becomes a Caretaker

Hello everyone, Vincent Reinhart here.  Dennis has been busy taking care of Kris this week, so I’m filling in for him.  Kris came home from the hospital this past Monday, and Dennis took the week off from work to take care of her.  Kris is on a liquid diet until her follow-up appointment with her doctor.  So, aside from tending to her needs and liquefying all the things, he has not had a chance to do much else.  So, I was surprised that he was able to try three new recipes.

During this past week, Dennis has survived on leftovers, hot dogs and prepackaged foods.  Particularly Cheetos – Dennis needs his crunchy snacks.  But all that gives out after a while, so yesterday he made himself Slow-Cooked Habanero Chili  https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/100705/slow-cooked-habanero-chili/ I was quite surprised to see him cooking something new.

Our first thought was how can you call it habanero chili when it has only one dried habanero and three cans of beans in it?  That was immediately changed to 2 fresh habaneros.  While good, and surprisingly meaty for only one pound of hamburger (no ground turkey in this house), it would be better with three – maybe four – habaneros.  As it stands, it’s only white-boy hot.

Company was coming today, Kris’ sister, brother-in-law and niece, along with the Mad Woman with a Box, so Dennis decided to make some snacks.  It’s been a long time since he’s made roll-ups.  He made two old favorites and two new ones:  Chicken Tortilla Roll-Ups https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid02tbgq8yJuy9qV2pLKGC84o9vA67HaPyqvfsRHAdzdpt77WSWfxpw1tCCsxesUr2Qfl&id=100092493682672 and LowCarb Chicken Bacon Ranch Pinwheels https://www.facebook.com/groups/823712034344442/permalink/6343846625664261 .

The first was a bit spicy and the second cool ranch.  Both were worthy additions to the roll-up collections.
