Anime Café

Anime Café

Last Saturday, I had to go to work and work five hours.  Yeah overtime!

When I got home, Kris wanted to surprise me with something special.  She took me to a new Anime Café in Tarzana.  It’s a small place; you could miss it if you’re not careful.  But it’s worth the trip.

It’s at 19100 Ventura Blvd in Tarzana CA.  It’s in the same small shopping center as the IHOP, you can’t miss that and it being across the street from the Fire Department.

At the counter you’ll find all sorts of Japanese snacks and drinks.

The food is good, too.  I had the Tuna Melt for $8.00 and Kris had the rice bowl with teriyaki chicken for $11.00.

The rice bowl was big for the price.  Kris couldn’t finish it on her own, so I helped her and we still took some home.

We also shared a drink – Pirate’s Fuel.  It was pineapple with ginger and a hint of mint.  I want to have another one of those again.

The place is decorated with anime posters and fan art, and they even have anime art contests.

One section is a viewing room.  They are subscribed to the streaming service, Crunchy Roll, so you can watch your favorite anime while you eat.  We watched an episode of One Piece.

They also have a cabinet with various pieces of anime merchandise for sale.

It was a fun afternoon.  Just the thing I needed after spending part of my Saturday at work.

Shin Chan approves.
