Another Brick and Mortar in the Wall

Another Brick and Mortar in the Wall

Yesterday a new store opened in beautiful downtown Burbank at 1919 Magnolia Blvd.:  Bricks and Minifigs.  https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=bricks%20%26%20minifigs%20burbank

Lego is now the most popular toy in the world.  I’ve been collecting since I was four.  You know you’ve hit it big when you have your own stores.  I don’t see Barbie or G.I. Joe with their own stores – Mattel and Hasbro being the other two of the big three toy companies.  You know what makes you bigger?  When other people start opening stores featuring your product.  Bricks and Minifigs is a chain of stores dedicated to Lego that is not owned by InterLego, Inc.

I couldn’t make it to the opening, so I stopped by after church today, it’s only about ten minutes away.  Even after the opening day balloons are gone, I’m sure you won’t be able to miss it.

It’s not as jam packed with Lego as an official Lego Store, but you will find things here you won’t find there.  Primarily, used sets, and they all look in pristine condition.

They even have UCS (Ultimate Collectors Series) sets that are hard to find outside of a Lego Store.  Here is the UCS Concord and X-Wing, which are both current sets.

Here’s a Lego Friends set.  I haven’t collected any yet, but I find them very colorful.  They are Lego’s most successful series targeted at girls.

Wait, what?  Lego Friends in Space?  These sets look pretty cool, too!

If you are looking for a certain minifigure, you there’s a good chance you will find it here.

And if you are missing an instruction book, you might find it here, too.

I haven’t seen these hats since BrickFest in Pasadena.  They are not real Lego parts, but I would make an exception if I wore hats.

This is their version of Lego’s Pic-A-Brick.  Four tables of random bricks.

They also have a selection of displays for your minifigs.

Here’s one for your Ninjago characters.

And here are some that are gears.  These may come in handy when I start doing book signings.

I even saw an Bricklink set.  Bricklink are sets created by fans using Lego bricks, but they are not official Lego sets.  I’ve only seen these online until now.

And hey, how about The Dark Falcon from Lego Star Wars “Rebuild the Galaxy” series on Disney+?

I know I’ll be returning soon – especially when I have some money.

“Here’s a quick meal Dennis discovered – Oklahoma Onion Burgers.  https://theflattopking.com/oklahoma-onion-burger/

If you like onions, this is the burger for you.  And simple to make. Just salt, pepper, lots of onions and American cheese.  Quick, easy and delicious.” – Vincent Reinhart
