Around here we have several traditions for the Christmas season. One of them is baking cookies!
I have collected several cookie recipes over the years. Some are favorites that I always make, like the Hershey’s Kiss cookies.
Sometimes I tinker around with recipes, like making the Hershey’s Kiss cookie dough, but putting chocolate chips in them instead of topping them with a kiss.
And I’m always looking for new recipes, which is now really easy to do, especially with Facebook. Recipes literally come right at you. Two new recipes I’m trying this year are Egg Nogg Cookies https://dessertsonadime.com/eggnog-cookies-recipe/ and Christmas Shortbread Cookies https://spaceshipsandlaserbeams.com/christmas-shortbread-cookies/?fbclid=IwAR3ApXG9cLgNenU-C9Uf-vzcer-4lYyzOm5qfnSdfIwUVebCXgSHKvquNBk . These are what I call “pretty cookies”, as opposed to plainer-looking oatmeal or chocolate chip cookies. They go on top of the bucket. As of this writing, I haven’t made them yet, so, pictures next week.
Better get back to baking, still have a couple of batches to do. Oh, and dinner. I have to stop and make dinner. Since Christmas calories don’t count, Kris and I could starve to death if all we eat is Christmas cookies.
