The Six Million Dollar Novel

The Six Million Dollar Novel

When we left my saga of a dead computer and a dead backup drive, I was without a current copy of my Steampunk novel.  I did have a backup copy, but it was lacking some major edits as was about 5,000 words shorter.

But…I did have every SENT email to my critique groups in my Yahoo account – which was not on my hard drive.  I had sent my novel, chapter by chapter, first to one critique group, made changes and additions and then sent it on to my second critique group.  Between those drafts and my older, complete draft, I was able to reassemble my novel in about three weeks.  Now Kris is going to give it the onceover for spelling (because I’m a writer, not a speller) and then it’s off to my editor.

In the meantime, I will be reassembling what I’ve written of my second novel in the same manner.  That shouldn’t take that long, I had only written six out of nineteen chapters.

Will this first novel make me six million dollars?

I’m not holding my breath.

I just got a new desk lamp on Amazon.com.

My only one died a couple of years ago and I’ve been using this spot lamp instead.

Now I’ve installed a new lamp and my desk is miraculously clean!  What a miracle.  A new phase in my writing requires a new lamp.  Everything is so clear, now.
