LA Times Festival of Rain – I mean Books

It occurred to me that water and paper don’t go well together, but the LA Times Festival of Books went on anyway. This was back on the weekend of April 26th and 27th. But we did start getting a good crowd when it stopped raining around 10:00 am on Saturday.
As always, the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society hosted a number of its members there to promote their books, like Neil Citrin promoting his upcoming book, “Lion’s Den”.
Neil Younger and his book, “Children of the Stars”.
Brandie June and her books, “Gold Spun”, “Curse Undone”, and her upcoming book, “Magic at the Grand Dragonfly Theater”.
And S. K. Kilburn and his book, “Summoning a Lost Fey”.
One of the highlights of the LATFoB is catching up with old friends. Nic Nelson of Wordsmith Writing Coaches https://wordsmithwritingcoaches.com/ stopped by and bought books from three of our authors.
As did Desiree Duffy of Black Chateau Enterprises https://www.blackchateauenterprises.com/
And she did a quick interview with Neil Citrin.
In other booths… I visited with children’s author, Shery Kent. https://www.facebook.com/WhimsicalWorldBooks
I stopped by National Woman’s Book Association – San Francisco Chapter, to see Debra Eckerling, author of, “Your Goal Guide” and “52 Secrets for Goal Setting and Goal Getting”. https://thedebmethod.com/
And I ran into an old Loscon friend, Glen Olson with his new book, “Desperate Endeavor”.
Kinokuniya Bookstore was there. They are a Japanese bookstore with a location in Little Tokyo in Downtown LA. They had some interesting items.
Hmmm, I see some Japanese Cuisine in my future.
With no rain on Sunday, it turned out to be another great event for GLAWS. I’m sure we’ll be back there next year, hopefully drier.
