Sourdough!

Sourdough!

A few weeks ago, I covered Roll-em-up Taquitos in the Porter Ranch shopping center in the San Fernando Valley.  Well, right next to it, opening at about the same time, is Sourdough & Company.

I love sourdough, especially San Luis Obispo Sourdough, or SLO Dough as we call it.  So, I had to try this place.  I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl.  I don’t remember when was the last time I ate a whole loaf of bread like that, but it was worth it!

They also had chili in a bread bowl, I’ll have to try that next time.  Kris had the French dip sandwich.

Also good and so was their mac & cheese – which came with more sourdough.

They have a good size menu and we will be definitely be coming back.

The place is a bit small, but there is outdoor seating, which will be good in the spring and summer.

With all these restaurants closing, it’s nice to see new and unique places opening up.

“One new recipe last night.  Chille nacho dip.  No recipe, Dennis just found it on a Facebook reel.  Very simple:  12oz of cream cheese, a can of Hormell chili and topped with cheddar.  Stick in the oven at 350* for about ten minutes.  It instantly became one of Kris’ favorites.

Followed by pizza.  Not a new recipe, just new toppings.  Half ham, onions and mushrooms and half Hawaiian.
