Setting Sail
For my birthday, Kris got me the Lego Going Mary, from the anime, “One Piece”. I’ve loved this show since it aired on Cartoon Network. I love the themes of friendship (friends are the family you make), following your dreams and helping others. The Netflix version is very true to the original anime. The pace is faster, some minor side stories are left out, but that’s just in keeping with today’s television. You can find the same kind of updates in the differences between the original, “The Thunderbirds” and “Thunderbirds are Go”. If you look at any drama from the 60’s like “Bonanza”, you’ll see the pacing was a lot slower back then.

Yesterday, LASFS had a book sale. They had a bunch of books from one of my favorite authors, Alan Dean Foster. I guess I know what I’ll be reading for the next six months.
