Back in the Hospital Again
Friday afternoon, Kris strained her hernia buy lifting something heaver that she should have. She didn’t feel anything at first, but by 3:00am she was in a lot of pain. She was in pain throughout Saturday, and at 10:30 pm, she threw up dinner and possible some of breakfast.
That’s when she decided she needed to go to the hospital. As you may recall, the last time she went to the hospital she had a blanket with the words, “L.A. County Jail”, printed on the edge. That was because Olive View Hospital is just down the street from the Juvenal Detention Center, and one of the inmates must have been brought in and the blanket left behind.
After a night and morning in ER they determined she has an obstructed bowel. I had one as well a few years ago. After enough pain killers my intestines were able to relax and they unkinked themselves. We hoping that’s what will happen here.
For now, she is in the hospital. Tomorrow morning, they will look at the bowel arthroscopically with a camera, then decide what need to be done. Maybe they unkinked. Maybe she will need surgery. We won’t know until tomorrow.
