ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOM

ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOM

I’m a bit Zoomed out from this weekend.  On Saturday, I had a Zoom meeting with the Loscon committee.  All department heads discussed their progress to this point.  Programming is coming along as they wait on some of the Guests of Honor to get back to them with their schedules.  As for my part, Kris and I run the Blood Drive.  We are having a blood drive, the American Red Cross has it on their schedule, and at this point that’s all there is.  I did request the same conference room because that has worked well for us.

Kris and I have also been department heading the Ice Cream Social, but since moving to the LAX Hilton, the hotel has been handling everything.  So that department is officially dead.

Later that evening, I had a critique group Zoom meeting where I found out I never got one of the three submissions to critique.  So now I owe a writer a critique.

And then today I had a Zoom meeting with the GLAWS Advisory Board.  We discussed our ongoing reorganization efforts, but we mainly discussed our plans for next weekend’s L. A. Times Festival of Book.  I am organizing the volunteers at the booth.

The festival is being held next weekend on the USC campus.  https://www.latimes.com/events/festival-of-books
We will be there Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Sunday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Stop by and say ‘hi”.  I’d like to speak to some people in person rather than on a thumbnail on my computer screen.
